3 Days Cappadocia and Ephesus Tour from Istanbul

Day 1 – Istanbul- Cappadocia (L)

Pick up from your hotel early morning Transfer to Ataturk Airport. Arrival and meeting at the airport just outside the arrival gate with a sign bearing your name and transfer to Cappadocia.

Full day Cappadcoia Tour:
The tour starts with Kaymakli Underground City which is one of the most interesting underground settlements in Cappadocia. The underground city was originally carved out as eight floors; however four floors are visit able. In war time about 5000 people can refuge in. Soganli Valley, an Open Air Museum in a wild natural setting near a typical Cappadocian village with its different style Rock-Cut churches and frescoes. Villages in the valleys, surrounded by the "table top" mountains, are spectacular. The valley was continuously inhabited since the earliest days of the Christian era, has churches that date from the 9th to 13th centuries. Some of the churches contain inscriptions giving the exact dates of construction and thus have provided scholars with valuable clues to help date other churches in Cappadocia. Lunch and Visit to Sahinefendi (Sobesos) - Sobessos, newly discovered (01 May 2002) mosaic houses & Archaeological excavation site. Continue with Keslik Monastery near Cemil that hides its frescoes behind a very thin smoke layer which we can only see by torch light. Our tour finishes with a visit to Mustafapasha (Sinassos), an old Greek town with its spectacular old Greek houses; very fine examples of late Greek settlements and architecture.
End of the tour Transfer to Hotel.

Day  2 – Cappadcoia – Istanbul (B-L)

Join For an excellent full day excursion, to see the volcanic landscape, drive to the surprising Kaymakli underground city, hiking in the volcanic red valley visit Cavus in Village and explore the local Culture.
An impressive day will start with Dervent valley. Than we keep going on with Pasabag "fairy chimneys", where you can feel the mystic of Fairy Chimneys. We will break at Avanos center of terracotta art. Ceramic dated back to the 3000 BC in the area and survived from to generations A visit to ceramic & tile center to see how the ceramics made by hand. After lunch we visit the famous Goreme Open Air Museum to see the best examples of Icons in Cappadocia. Soft rocks OF Cappadocia from the clefts carved out to form stables,churches, monasteries. A visit to the carpet weaving co-operation to see how the Turkish carpet made by hand. We will enjoy the day by taking a look to the Goreme Valley from next to the Uchisar Rock-Castle. We complete the tour with a visit to the Kaymakli Under Ground ancient City, dated back to the Hittites than used by the early Christians. Under Ground city specially carved to be used during the war time to save their lives as well as early Christians hide themselves from the Roman pressure, you can still see stables kitchen living room bedroom and more.
End of the tour transfer to Kayseri Airport evening flight to Izmir (VIA ISTANBUL AIRPORT.)on your own, and enjoy a transfer to your hotel and enjoy a good night’s sleep in readiness for tomorrow.
Overnight in Kusadasi.

Day 3 – Izmir –Istanbul ( B-L)

Enjoy breakfast in your hotel, and then travel to Ephesus where an important archeological site, considered as one of Europe’s best-preserved Classical cities, awaits. Explore the ruins on a walking tour and see sights such as the Temple of Hadrian — a monument built to celebrate the Emperor Hadrian’s visits to the city.

 

Take a break for lunch in the main town before traveling to the House of the Virgin Mary, a site that many believe is where the Virgin Mary spent her final days. Enjoy a look around the chapel and hear about its history as a place of pilgrimage from your guide.
End of the tour transfer to Adnan Mendres Airport(IZMIR) evening flight to Istanbul.
Upon arrival Istanbul Airport meet the driver & Transfer to your hotel.
